Toters is committed to guaranteeing your data privacy. Please see below our Data Privacy Policy which sets the foundation for how we approach your data at Toters.

We safeguard personal data

We have strict and appropriate precautions to prevent loss, and unauthorized use or disclosure, of your personal data through data encryption.

We do the right thing with the data

We collect only necessary information and allow you to manage your own Personal Data.

We share the needed to deliver the service

The respective teams and service providers at Toters have access to your Personal Data only when needed in the context of an order, fraud investigation, or product improvement.

 

WHICH PERSONAL DATA DO DRIVERS AND MERCHANTS SEE?

  • Shoppers:

    • Your full name provided on the app, needed to better locate your address upon order drop off.

    • The name and location of the store you ordered from.

    • A unique randomly generated order code to be shared with the store upon order pick up (the “Generated Order Code”).

    Merchants:

    • Your first name, and the first letter of your last name.

    • The items you ordered.

    • The Generated Order Code.

    • A random unique user identifier code that is needed for a store to call you for order updates. These calls are routed through the Toters contact center without the store having access to your phone number.

  • Shoppers:

    • Your full name provided on the app, needed to better locate your address upon order drop off.

    • Your address and delivery details, needed to ensure a smooth delivery experience.

    • A button allowing the driver to contact you either through the app using an in-app call, or using your phone number, in case of any order updates. In the case of in-app calls, your phone number is not visible to the driver.

    • Coming soon! Any communication between the customer and driver will strictly be through an in-app chat or call inside the app. In our upcoming app update, shoppers will not have access to your phone number in any way.

    Merchants:

    • The same information visible upon placing an order will also be visible while your order is on the way. This includes your first name and the first letter of your last name, the items you ordered, the Generated Order Code, and a random unique user identifier.

  • Shoppers:

    • All the above-mentioned personal information visible upon placing an order will no longer be available as soon as your order is delivered. This includes your full name provided on the app, your address and delivery details, and the ability to contact you.

    Merchants:

    • The same information visible upon placing an order and when your order is on the way. This includes your first name and the first letter of your last name, the items you ordered, the Generated Order Code, and a random unique user identifier.

    • In addition, and in case you rate your order below 5 stars, the store you ordered from will be able to contact you within a 48 hour period via a random unique user identifier code to make things right! These calls are routed through the Toters contact center without the store having access to your phone number.

 

how does your data shape your app experience?

  • Location
    Your location helps us show you nearby stores that you can order from, calculate the approximate delivery time, and reach you as fast as possible.

  • Online payments
    When you place an order through an online payment method, we put a temporary authorization hold on your card for the order value. Once your order is delivered, your card is charged the final amount. Your credit card is stored through payment gateway providers who are certified at the highest standard for data encryption and security (PCI compliance). Toters does not store any credit card information, nor is it accessible to any of the Toters employees or drivers.
